The Mayflower first landed at the tip of Cape Cod on November 11,
1620. A month later, the famous landing at Plymouth took place 26 miles away across Cape
Cod Bay. Today Plimoth Plantation's 1627 Pilgrim Village looks out across the Bay, and on
clear days, you can see Provincetown's Pilgrim Monument from the tower in the Plantation
Visitor Center (there is a telescope mounted there to help).
The map shows the third exploratory voyage made by the Mayflower
Shallop when Plymouth was selected as the place for settlement, and the wreck of the Sparrowhawk
whose passengers lodged in Plymouth in 1626-27.
