Dutch Barn or Helm This is a hayhouse where salt hay was stored. The adjustable roof may be raised or lowered to accomodate varying supplies of hay. Cow House Cattle and farm animals were housed in smaller "beasthouses," such as this cow house. Barns were more often used for grain storage than for livestock.
